SAILFISH

SAILFISH

Guatemala is a top destination for sailfishing, with common species including marlin, dorado, and yellowfin tuna. But the real reason to come here is for the sheer number of bites you can experience in a day - on average, 15 to 20. And during the peak season from October through June, it's not uncommon to have 40 or more bites in a day. So whether you're a beginner or an experienced angler, Guatemala is the place to be for sailfishing.

DORADO

DORADO

Dorado, dolphin, dolphinfish, or mahi-mahi - whatever you call them - are beautiful, brightly-colored fish that are great fun to catch. They're also delicious to eat, making them a perfect choice for your next fishing trip. Our Guatemala waters offer the chance to catch dorado nearly year-round, so come on down and give it a try!

MARLIN

MARLIN

Our waters offshore from Guatemala are warm and inviting, and every year we see a great number of blue, black, and striped marlin caught in them. These three species can grow to absolutely incredible size, making them the alpha predators among our pelagic fish species. Marlin of various kinds can show up at any time of year, so there's always a chance for a surprise visit from one of these magnificent creatures when you're out fishing with us.

ROOSTERFISH

ROOSTERFISH

The roosterfish got its name from its trademark dorsal fin that resembles a rooster's comb or mohawk. But the fish is unique in other ways too. Many roosterfish are taken on poppers and stickbaits worked along sandy beaches. But large roosters are more often found in deeper waters and prefer live bait rigged with a circle hook, according to experienced fishing guides. The biggest roosters can weigh more than 60lb.

WAHOO

WAHOO

Wahoo are a blast to fish for! They are missile-like eating machines that can quickly devour just about any bait or lure. Their sharp teeth make short work of even the best-prepared baits. The average size wahoo is 25 to 30 pounds, but some lucky anglers have caught monster wahoo weighing over 120 pounds. You can find wahoo in our local waters just about every month of the year.

YELLOWFIN TUNA

YELLOWFIN TUNA

The yellowfin tuna is a popular choice among Guatemala offshore sportfishers because of its size and tenacity. These fish can weigh up to 30 pounds, with the occasional allison tipping the scales at 100 pounds. When hooked, yellowfin tuna tend to stay deep and put up a fight, making for an exciting and challenging and delicious catch.
